Olga Karlovac is a Croatian photographer known for her use of blur in street photography. She uses older model Ricoh cameras and slow shutter speeds to achieve her grainy , high contrast, black and white images. She likes to shoot walking down the street, through rainy windows or from moving vehicles, resulting in images with motion blur and intentional camera movement . Most of her images have figures in them. The results are enigmatic, poetic, atmospheric and melancholy.
I also recommend this video about Olga Karlovac on the Imitative photography channel . in which her style is studied and suggestions are made for how to achieve something that has the look of her work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7wF7d04aX8
The challenge is for you to take images emulating her style,
the tag is ac-karlovac
the challenge will run from 1 April until the 23rd of April
enjoy the looseness and creative opportunities of intentional blur!
The video made by the guy imitating her style was brilliant - and I laughed so much at his technique of being discreet photographing pedestrians by pulling the camera out of his shopping bag at the last minute!
@summerfield just what I was thinking re @joemuli. This looks like a great challenge. I love doing ICM but never did in urban environments before. Will keep in mind.
