This is the twelfth official Monday of this challenge!
Make a self-portrait every week, based on a new theme.
The new theme will be posted on Monday.
This last week was all about facial features. Cheyenne Rebecca picked the winner and it's Tasha Chawner ( @tashachawner ) with this picture:
Congratulations Tasha!!!
I loved how we showed our best facial features!
This weeks selfies must be based on Tasha's choice: Books!
She mailed me this: "I'm a huge bookworm myself and felt that this theme would have lots of potential for sitting / setting ideas.
Plus 'books' gives us props to work with - something else I personally haven't done a lot of and would like to try.
I'm very curious what everybody will do with this theme, I think it's a lot of fun!!!
And this weeks selfies are again also date-restricted. You only can take and post them until late Saturday evening or Sunday morning, depending on where you live! Then Tasha Chawner will pick the winner and he or she can choose the new theme for next week.
You can post your self-portrait in this thread and tag it with monday-sp12.
Have fun!!! I'm sure we all will look like book-worms this week this week!
And for something else: I'm finishing my first year of this project on the 9th. What should we do with this challenge? I'm happy to proceed, but what do you guys think? I see that the number of entries is coming down, so maybe it's time to call it an end...
@geertje Thankyou Geertje. By Christmas I should know the result :o) I'd love the carry on with this. I look forward to seeing what the monday selfie will be and it takes me out of my comfort zone (I'd never normally do selfies) Some weeks I've not had the time to be particularly creative and some weeks I haven't joined in, the levitation springs to mind! But I for one would still like for it to carry on. x
@psychographer@geertje I'm with Lisa... I never do selfies, but it forces me to be more creative and also improves my editing.. if i don't like the way i look on a particular day! I really enjoy the monday sp themes...x
@geertje I think this is a great competition. It gives a subject for us to work with but leaves the interpretation up to us so we can be as creative or simple as we choose and, for me anyway, has forced me to see myself with new eyes. I say keep it unless YOU are getting tired of being responsible for it.
@deens I had a similar idea that I haven't implemented yet and may not get the chance to but wanted you to know yours is awesome. @chriswang I like both of yours! @smile4me very cute shot
Had some great ideas, but I'll probably not follow thru with them, but I had to do something for this weeks theme, being such a bookworm. so something simple:
I was reading & remembered the challenge.. here's the result.
@geertje Like the others, I find this challenging and inspring. :-) I say keep it going! I don't mind either way if it stays a "competition" or just a challenge. I really enjoy everyone's take on the subject of the week.
I went through parochial grade and high school and this Bible was the one I used throughout. In adult study after church on Sundays, we just started going through the Psalms so I thought this was an appropriate shot for this week's theme.
My choice for winner this week is Nadine S ( @deens ) with her library shot. Honorable mention goes to Jani M ( @janmaki ) and Geertje ( @geertje ) for their brilliant editing!!
Thanks so much to everyone else for coming up with some wonderful interpretations on the theme. Look forward to seeing what Nadine comes up with next week!!

@deens Well, you know, I just love this, so perfect for this theme, is it just luck or was it meant to be?!?
What do you guys think about continuing this competition?
@chriswang So cool! I love what you've done with that book!
@smile4me I really like your pose! When I'm reading I'm always only halfway here and half of me is in the book...
What do you guys think about continuing this competition?
@mcdougall It really looks like it came out of a book, fun!
@bec01 I love how soft this looks, wonderful light and processing!
