356 Advantage

You know, coming back home after a few days off and finding the heating system gone may be a bother... Having a fireplace is a great advantage...
That's a stylish mirror frame Domenico. I like the candles too. Are they as black as they look?

@chillen a very lucky find at a local antique shop. It comes from a1920s theater in Austria that was being dismantled and transformed into a multiplex... yes the candles are black... very romantic!

Lothario...in your spare time? ;-)

@s4sayer hahaha, possibly a wannabe...

Beautiful in so many ways

Very nice ... everytime I see a fire like that I smell two stroke, hear the chainsaw, and feel blisters from the splitting axe (cut up a lot of gum trees as a young man). +1 for the mirror.

@kevin365 Thank you!
@scotthouston really? My experience in chopping wood is just cleaning the bush in my place in Sardinia... and I'm more at ease with the chainsaw when used as photographic gear than properly (see fiveplustwo shot of 9 October, 2016 ;-))

A blissful shot, Domenico!

@kazlamont Thank you very much!

Looks sooo cozy!

nothing quite like having back up heat! (and a back-up way to make coffee)
January 9th, 2017
@blueberry1222 It would be even better with the heating up! :-) thank you
@francoise Or a generous dose of a full-proof rum... Thanks!

What a grand scene... the only thing missing is you wearing a monocle leaning against the mantlepiece with a crystal glass in your hand and a reclining mastiff at your feet!

@domenicododaro Couldn't see anything on 9th October :(
January 10th, 2017
@vignouse And let's not forget a luscious satin robe de chambre... ;-)

Great way to make art out of your problems. I love the mirror and the snap crackling fire.
January 10th, 2017
@joysabin Thank you Joy... Isn't it all art is about? An unnecessary act of beauty out of ordinary problems...
January 10th, 2017
@domenicododaro I found the shot. Are you a criminal lawyer?
January 12th, 2017
@scotthouston No, business stuff...

Lou
Looks like a feet-up-warm-drink-fuzzy-socks-good-book kind of night. What were you reading?
January 13th, 2017
@louuncouth "Laziness in the fertile valley" by Albert Cossery (Egyptian, original in French, I read it in Italian). Funnily surreal.
January 13th, 2017
@domenicododaro Oh, well, I saw the chainsaw, and thought that (some) Italians have a bit of a reputation for direct problem solving methods.
January 13th, 2017
@scotthouston Some do, actually. Sometimes I wish I were mean enough, lol...
