So, the flower power fortnight has come to an end. I had fun with this little sharpie, the Leitz Tele-Elmarit-M 90mm f:2,8. It’s only a bit sensitive to flare in backlit conditions, but otherwise a very cool and very reasonably dimensioned lens (we get along well, as it’s known as the “Dwarf”... we are both vertically challenged guys lol...)
I promised to reveal the trick: all the photos are composites of min. 6 max 15 images of the same branch, flower, plant, arrangement, turned 360°, then layered using different layer merging styles, then converted to B&W in Silver Efex. Quite a bit of work... But I’m so glad it’s been appreciated, and not only here: even the hypercritical Mrs. D. ordered prints for the dining room!

The story:
There’s more than you can see.
Look, don’t just see. There’s always something more beneath the surface. A weed is a weed is a weed, but in spring even weeds know how to bloom.
Learn to stick roots in the air, generosity comes from nothing.
Even if you feel drained and dry, you still can give solace
Extend your arms gently, touch and be touched. The skin is only a medium.
It’s in the darkness that your true light will appear.
Even the humblest herb has a gift of scent and flavor.
A small bottle may bring the most important message:
«Forget me not. Please, forget me not».
Among innumerable peers we stand alone, each unique in his sameness,
All identical in our claims of uniqueness, in our quest for roots, in our aspiration to memory...
Ready to engage with any carrier, like the resilient ivy,
With the secret hope of a calling, of being admitted to see the light.
And the light is within, for those who can tell its seeds.
Most impressive both for your conceptualization and the processing for this series. It's been impressive and I've wondered at the clarity and what felt like hyper-realism in each shot. And of course, nice selfie too!
Love the selfie, interesting lens you have there too. Thanks for the explanation of how you did it. Sounds like a lot of time and effort but the results were well worth that investment.
Absolutely stunning series of photos - particularly interesting for me as I start my creative photography course - creating ME photos in camera. So enjoyed 'There's more than you can see'. FAV
Thanks Domenico for the series and explanation very clever and I appreciate the time involved in each image. Oh,I bought the 15mm Helier on the strength of your work and critique, I was looking at others but your images sold it. Thank you.
@ludwigsdiana Thank you very much! @vignouse Oh Richard, don’t make me blush now! @graemestevens Thanks a lot! I imagine you have quite a bit of processing on your creations, too! @ginnys Thank you very much! @joysabin Too kind of you, Joy. I’m humbled! @seattlite Thank you very much, I appreciate your judgment! @taffy Thanks a lot, Taffy, I am glad you took the time to enjoy them. @swguevin2 It is! Thank you! @shylaine3304 Hello! Thanks a lot... I have grown accustomed to selfies with the fiveplustwo membership: why don’t you join some of the weekly prompts? @jgpittenger Thank you! @kali66 Too kind of you, friend. Thanks! @stray_shooter Thank you so much, Ron! I am loving the body, and the lenses... well, I am jealously keeping them! @golftragic Thank you very much! @jocasta I am so glad of your appreciation! Thank you very much. M.E. is an endless resource! @moonbi Thanks to you, Jason! I am sure you will love it, once you will have get a minimum acquaintance with the extreme perspectives. I should ask a commission to Cosina-Voigtlaender: you are the second person purchasing one of their lenses out of my recommendations! lol
You look sharp!
Hope you are well and that the opening up is going smoothly. We start phase 2 now ... opening malls, getting the 6.-9. graders back in school a little and so on.
Love the focus on this one. I've very much enjoyed your flower power shots. Thanks for your technique, it sounds quite technical. So you stacked the images first (the 360 deg turn foxed me for a while but it is late in the UK and I am slow!) - I use Silver Efex too but my efforts are paltry in comparison to yours. I must try and emulate these shots, yours are sturnning
@runner365 Thank you... not so much as a matter of fact lol! We started going back to office. Schools closed I believe forever (they will not open before September, actually). @fbailey So very kind of you, thank you very much! @francoise Thank you very much, Françoise!
