A very big thank you to everyone who looks at/comments on/faves my photos. It's a privilege to 'meet' such a friendly, supportive bunch of people.
The sun was shining with all its springtime might when we got up this morning, so we decided to go to the supermarket the long way round and went to Southend for lunch and a walk along the waterfront. It was chilly and the sky more cloudy than when we left home but it made a smashing day out.
Southend's about 70 miles away from us, so the long way round to the supermarket was quite a long way round. :-D
This is looking towards Southend pier and (probaby) the Isle of Grain on the other side of the Thames estuary.

Great pov and composition. Liking the railings in the foreground, just leads your eye right into the picture. My faviourite is water sparking when the sun is on it.
What a beautiful photo! Love the sun bouncing off the water and the two sets of railings - the boat is just a neat extra touch. Great clarity in your detail - I really like this picture.
