After a 300 mile drive to Alnwick, Northumberland for our week away, Lester and I had some tea and then spent an hour on the beach at nearby Alnmouth. It was good to stretch our legs after the journey.
The flat we rented proved to be very comfortable and it was the best holiday rental we've stayed in. The weather wasn't so good and had deteriorated so much by Friday (and promised to get worse) that we came home a day early. It's beautiful there but it's definitely a place to be out-and-about in and we're rather fair weather tourists. Well, we try to be - the weather often has other ideas. :-)

What a beautiful landscape, great composition. The road loading away takes your eye to the horizon. Love the smoke coming out of that chimney, and the wall just on the end of the beach. Yes its great to be out, but agree you do need at least dry weather for these places.
Welcome back! (Couldn't say it earlier I was abit poorly! ) Sorry the weather wasn't so good for you, its a chance we have to take! Love the landscape, especially the detail in the foreground.
