Glow in the dark frog not glowing in the dark

He does normally but I forgot to open the bedroom curtains today, so he didn't get his daily feed of light and went on strike.
He lives on my bedside cabinet. If I need to get up in the night he gives out just enough light to save me having to put a bedroom light on to find my way about.

It's rained here today. ALL day. A much-looked-forward-to meet with a couple of 365er chums had to be postponed and I spent the day indoors with a mass of failed photo ideas for company! Never mind - they kept me out of mischief. :-)
nice florecent frog

Nat
Well this one is not a fail. I like this set-up. Would you care to share your light source and background material?

Like it - simple.

By the way, Wicket Brood are dancing at The Rising Sun in Berhampstead this evening, which I think is not far from you?

Clever shot and very nicely done! Hope you get a chance to see your 365 chums eventually. We've had lots of rain lately, too. Finally had a break yesterday.

nice white on white !
June 12th, 2012
Now that was a clever idea for a rainy day!

@natsnell Thank you, Nat :-)
I used a piece of picture mounting card, cream side up, and a little quartz halogen lamp - 35w bulb. It's part of a little studio box set that Lester bought in Maplins, designed for taking shots of stuff to sell on ebay. I can't see the product on their site any more, though, or I'd post a link.
I shot it in RAW and tinkered with the settings just a little until I got this.

That is brilliant ! Let's hope the rain goes soon.

That light gives a great effect. Shows your frog perfectly. It rained here all day too!

Nice composition!

@natsnell Photo here : http://365project.org/dulciknit/other-photos/2012-06-11
It's a 40w bulb not 35 as stated.

Oh sorry that your 365 meet up had to be delayed. Sounds like you are having a rotter or a summer so far! The rain better stop for the Olympics!
June 12th, 2012
@jenrobcarr Thanks, Jennifer. Yeah, we had a drought declared about 6 weeks ago and it's hardly stopped raining since 8-( Really miserable. Be awful if it does carry on over the Olympics.
June 12th, 2012
@dulciknit We had drought here for 10 years and it was so scary as all the lakes were almost empty, so now when it rains I just feel happy. It's frustrating though when it rains so much that you can't get out and take photos! xx
June 12th, 2012
@jenrobcarr 10 years!!!!! I can well believe you welcome the rain - that must have been horrendous!
June 12th, 2012
The rain did you a favour really - it's a super shot of the frog and the lighting works well!
June 13th, 2012
Love it!!
June 13th, 2012
A wonderful shot and you have executed it brilliiantly Alison.
June 13th, 2012
Great lighting. I like the white on white.

@dulciknit Thanks Alison. I'll take a look at the picture mounting card next time I'm at the craft shop.
June 14th, 2012
@natsnell You're very welcome, Nat. And, yes, that is the card in the shot of the lamp.
June 14th, 2012
I like your shot. The light is good, outstanding work! I really like it, well done Mum.
