Green Man

This is one of the Green Men who live in and around our house. The Green Man is a figure found in many countries and cultures : http://www.mikeharding.co.uk/greenman/stories-in-the-leaves
Although I associate him with the more Pagan beliefs, there are many representations of him in churches here. This one is a replica of a carving in Lincoln Cathedral.
(I tried to get him straight but he's not symmetrical and, if you look closely, you can see his mouth isn't in full alignment with his eyes.)
Thank you to everyone who's looked at /commented on/fav'd my posts. It's so kind and I'm very grateful to you for taking time out to drop by .
I can't see anything wrong with this shot. It is good. Where does he 'live' in your house ?

@jtookey150 Thank you, Jean. He usually sits on the chest of drawers in our little hallway which doubles as the computer room.

The Green man used to be my fav pub, when back when. Love shot, little mystic

He is really unusual - hadn't heard of him before. Fun to have something different. Do like the shot of him.

Love him! He appeals to the gardener in me.

I love the Green Man stories. I followed your link to Mike Harding and noticed the reference to Knutsford - I shall go to the My Fair next year!

Lovely shot, like the softness. I don't think I know anything about the green man. He kooks quite benevolent.

He looks to be vomiting a tree - seems that would be quite painful!

@jennywren Thank you, Jen. Sorry, I pressed the wrong button and deleted your other comment! I think he's meant to be both benevolent and awe-inspiring, perhaps.

No worries on wrong button pressing. The minute I posted I realised I had a wrong spelling, tricky little things these fingers!

Really cool shot adding a very spooky feel. Interesting story but I don't think I'd like him hangin' around my house...LOL!
