Lester has not been doing a photography 365 but a Tune-A-Day blogspot and he posted his final tune today.
He hasn't recorded a tune each day (not possible when you go away) but did them in batches and uploaded one p.d. The first 200 weren't a problem, the next 100 were a bit trickier, they were tunes he'd only ever played along with rather than learned. He had to learn the last 65 from scratch in order to complete his year.
Lester has more tunes to learn and intends to post intermittently to his blog but will not do another 365.
At the time of posting his final tune, the blog had received 56,000 page hits, the Youtube channel, 80,000. Lester's Tune-A-Day has become a useful learning resource for other folk music instrumentalists.
His 365th post, The Bicycle Pump Polka, can be found here: http://lesters-tune-a-day.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/tune-365-bicycle-pump-polka.html It's something of a novelty item and is great fun and well worth a listen if you have a moment. This is a completely unbiased opinion, of course. ;-)
Please excuse me rambling on but I'm sure you can understand I'm very proud of him.
[I know you're supposed to encourage your portrait subjects to wear unpatterned garments but these Hawaiian style shirts are so much a part of who Lester is I decided not to ask him to change it. :-) ]
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

Two quite talented people - makes a very good match, obviously. Really do like the picture of Lester and be sure to congratulate him for me - I, too, plan to check out the link you posted.
Congratulations to Lester for a great job done. I remember you telling me about his project, when I uploaded folklore instruments while I was in Barcelona.
What a great portrait shot of him, you have caught his fingers well on those buttons, nice connection with the instrument. Watched and listened to the tune, yes good fun and what a lovely smile Lester gave us at the end.
Please give my Congrats to Lester...enjoyed listening to him play the Bicycle Pump Polka and a couple of others. The picture of him in his Hawaiian shirt is perfect and your tribute says it all. You are obviously a match made in talent heaven!!
What am amazing feat, I'll check him out later! You have captured the essence of Lester I think here, he looks happy, relaxed and proud too. I can totally understand your pride in him too!
Thanks for the tune, Alison ... "An amusing little number" if I might say so. We are going today to the Traditional Music Day at Stowmarket, which I believe is one of your favourites.
Thank you, Arthur. We haven't been to that event yet but it is now in the diary for next year. You have a great tradition of music in your area, don't you, and a wonderful organisation in the East Anglian Music Trust to support it too. I wish more areas of the country were so careful of their customs and traditions.
I hope you and Kate enjoy your day - I'm looking forward to seeing your shots.
Hey! How can I comment on your awesome pics if you immediately remove them?? LOL (tee hee, I understand..I do that too!) Going to check out Lester's tunes now!
But here's what I said, in case you're wondering... "Wow, what great lines!!! Awesome shot. I was thinking that would be a great intro line to a novel: Lester had to see a man about a melodeon..."
Thanks also for your comment on my wildlife shot.
I hope you and Kate enjoy your day - I'm looking forward to seeing your shots.
Please excuse the mass reply but I did want to thank you all for your kind words, it's a privilege and pleasure to share Lester's achievement with you. Thank you. xx
