This is one of the members of the Morris side that Lester's in, so not a stranger but a friend who kindly consented to me posting this.
Barry dances and is also a very accomplished recorder player.
(The recorder is much-maligned, largely because of the racket so many of us made with it at school but in the right hands it's a wonderful instrument. Barry makes wonderful instruments of his recorders.)
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

Wonderful! Love the way you've captured the light shining through his straw hat onto his face. From his happy expression, I believe he enjoyed having his picture taken.
Lovely portrait of Barry with the sunlight and shadows on his face. He has a great smile. Have never heard a recorder played by someone who knows how to play. Has he posted anything on YouTube?
Your portrait really shows the person - that smile I bet really describes him well. Know he's got to be pleased with your work. Like others, I've heard a recorder in school, but bet his work is nothing like that! Love the effects of the lighting the way you shot this.
What a great portrait....love those speckles on his face from the sun coming though his hat. He looks very contented!!! Would love to hear the music played.
You have caught such a great expression om his face, very soft and gentle, a lovely smile and eyes. The hat shadow of lattice work is a great addition. Will be interested to listen to the recorder link, my efforts at school were definitely not in that league.
