I have to admit, I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but it sure captures my attention, whatever it is. I agree, viewing it on a black background really makes it pop. Nice!

Of course, I can see faces here! I'm actually wondering if I really need to know what this really is!

Well Alison, first of all a cracking abstract and piece of art. I didn't think I had a scooby when I saw this (and no clues in your tags) , then your art became "artisan" and the object could have been created by that said artisan in the early hours of the morning at maybe 190C :)

A great abstract, will we ever get to know what it is, in fact, do we want to know what it is!!

Looks like the cross section of an onion to me! Intriguing patterns.

Since I know you're not shooting through a microscope (which this could be what you were seeing), I'd go with Paula's idea - you have been doing the most fantastic abstracts with the b&w and this one is sensational against the black.

Creepin' cool! Looks embryo, onion, or even bacteria?- but it's a great abstract!

Makes such a fantastic abstract. So creative.

Interesting abstract. Can't figure out what this is.

It makes me think of a baby scan.

It reminds me of a cross-section of a fern, all bundle up and about to open.

First thought was baby scan! Amazing shapes, almost snake like too.
