Frustration

Odd title for a shot like this, huh? Yes, but there's a story attached.
This is part of the Forest of Bowland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_of_Bowland
It's pretty, but I should have been posting a breathtaking landscape of great rolling hills (all covered in heather, just like this one - miles of them) with a single track road winding picturesquely over them.
I couldn't post a shot like that because I didn't take one. I didn't take one because I spent most of the journey over said rolling hills trying not to succumb to an expletive-deleted panic attack! Heights? Agoraphobia? Dunno; I was just scared! So it really was a breathtaking view as far as I was concerned. :-(
I also spent the next couple of nights having those just-dropping-off-to-sleep nightmares, about roads that came to an end with nothing but sky all around - and that includes below . Eeeuww!
Taken on the journey to Clitheroe from our cottage near Bentham during our recent break in Lancashire.
I sympathise with your nightmares. I can remember sitting in the car with eyes tightly closed in the Yorkshire dales, (fortunately I wasn't driving) and had similar sleep problems. This is a lovely shot though.

Lucky you being in the Dales! My parents came from Clitheroe and Downham.Such a beautiful part of the world. When my Mum died she wanted her ashes scattered at Brimham rocks. If yoy make it there, say Hi to her for me! Lovely place for photos too so worth a visit. sorry about the panic attack! It is quite dramatic landscape, obviously literally took your breath away! Enjoy the rest of your stay :)

Sorry to hear your having problems like these. Panic attacks caused by anything are terrible! It's a great picture!

Thank you for the kind comments, ladies. :-)

Panic attacks have no logic to them. I have problems with heights ... sometimes. Was OK (if bored!) in the London Eye, but not in a cable car. Terrible on mountain paths, but fine inside an Indian train teetering on wobbly rails up a mountainside. As I say, no logic!
So, don't worry; you may not get another.
