These hyacinths look as if they are desperately trying to escape from their prison - the orangery at Osterley Park.
I think they put hyacinths at the windows in the orangery every year. I certainly remember seeing some last spring. They're a bit starved of light, though, and the stems on each plant grow forward so that the flowers touch the windows in an attempt to get as much light as possible.
