No brass band at Southend on Saturday. I don't know if there are any seaside resorts where they still do play. And they used to play on Sunday afternoons, not Saturdays. But the gull and the pigeon look as if they're having a stroll, just like the humans.

I'm not old enough to remember the old music halls but my mother was, and was a regular audience member when she was young. When I was very little she used to sing lots of the songs to me, including this one. Trips to the seaside and my Mum's singing are my happiest childhood memories and I guess that's what prompted the titles for these two shots.

@bigsusan55 No, I would have left her partner in if it had been human but it was a bright blue litter bin - some of which you can still see. I managed to crop enough off to stop it being intrusive - I hope.
