Very cool shot

One of those best viewed large ones.
I spent a bit of time having a go at doing manual focus this afternoon. This is part of the ice growth currently on our water feature in the garden. The feature is a ceramic ball that the water runs down. The whole thing can be seen here : http://365project.org/dulciknit/on-the-day-extr/2012-02-03
The focusing didn't go too badly on the whole. Some total bombs, of course, but one or two quite passable ones. This one's my favourite of the successes. I've cropped it and added shade but not sharpened it. I'd liked to have got a better angle but it would have involved lying on the ground - I'm the last word in unsupple and the ground just there is large gravel!

Not to say as well that it would have been jolly cold on the ground! Well done on the manual. The ice has a shine and texture.

Love these kinds of shots - have a litle creek near here where I love to shoot the ice formations. That's a pretty awesome ice sculpture you've shot.
