mala by edorreandresen

mala

A mala is a simple string of beads used to count mantras, prayers, or breaths. Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning garland. A full mala contains 108 counting beads plus one guru bead. I made this mala using some of my favorite beads.
I love the variety of colors and textures! I also love your background ... it's so interesting and inviting to look at.

Your photography of your mala is well done for your DoF work. I'm finding your placement of your mala on the background that also has the same colorfulness both interesting, but diversifying focus. I wonder about placing the mala on a single colored background to demand our attention on the mala itself as an alternate image. Your story explaining what a mala is (new to me) and your creation itself may be worth having multiple photo play. (or if you already have posted and I missed them, please just point me to them).

Thanks for looking in. I'm enjoying your comments-well crafted. This was a bit busy for me too. I did not do any other shots of the mala. Might be fun to revisit!
