We don't have self-service filling stations in South Africa, so Agnes filled my car with petrol this morning. She says it's a boring, lonely job, so is studying part-time to become a pre-school teacher. She and her 26-year old son live locally, but she calls King William's Town in the Eastern Cape where her mother still lives, home. When I asked if I may take a photo of her she initially said no, so I packed my camera away. A few minutes later she asked why I wanted a picture and I told her because she was beautiful. "I am looking untidy today" she said, "but please take a photo if I will make you happy". Indeed, I was right. She is beautiful.

That probably totally made her day. It's those little things that people remember. And getting to know the person behind the worker is wonderful as well. Thanks for posting this.
