This is the African Daisy, or Namaqualand Daisy (Dimorphotheca sinuata) which is the backbone to the magnificent wildflower displays that we have in spring along the West Coast of South Africa. The flowers are late this year - or maybe not at all? - due to low winter rains, and early heat. A year ago I stood at this spot with Greta and Lindsay, and we took pictures of colourful carpets as far as the eye could see. This year is about the magnificence of the few!
