Schools closed on Thursday for the Spring Holidays. In our home this means the first week-end is pre-season rowing camp at Eikenhof Dam outside Elgin. Greg is the oarsman, but I also went on camp - a "Cookie Mommy"; there to help with the catering. We arrived as the drizzle changed to rain; I'm grateful that I was not rigging boats.
It's a strange and beautiful sight driving from the Country Club side where the boats are rigged, round to the other side where the cottages are. Last year there was a big fire in the area, and blackened tree stumps are everywhere. But it's spring now, a year later, and the yellow daisies are everywhere. Quite beautiful, and enhanced by a luminous rainbow.
