D is for District 6 Cafe

District 6 in Cape Town's City Bowl is one of South Africa's most visible apartheid scars. The process of rebuilding the community is slow and beset by political and bureaucratic problems.

This corner on Keizergracht, behind the Castle, is coming to life. There is so much to look at - I hope it speaks of the future, rather than the gentrified 2 up / 2 downs on the other side of the District.
Very cool District 6 shot this!

I love all the bright colors here. I hope that this block is a sign of good things to come.

So much activity and things to look at! And those mountains in the background are so intense - they just jut up out of nowhere! I'm so used to miles and miles of rolling hills.
