In the UK, there is an advertising campaign for a website called comparethemarket.com. The whole thing centres around a bunch of meerkats (with Russian accents!) complaining that people keep mistakenly coming to their site -comparethemeerkat.com - looking for cheap deals on car insurance. Timone has totally faded into insignificance as a consequence. Show anyone in the UK a meerkat and they will say "Simples", which is the trademark expression of the central meerkat character.
I guess someone must have pointed out that a meerkat should have a southern African accent, because the campaign included an ad that related the story of how the meerkats made their way from the African desert to Russia many centuries ago...
