Food of the Gods

The Greek name for Persimmons is 'Diospyros' which means "Food of the Gods". In South Africa we grow a variety called Sharon Fruit - a non-astringent cultivar that can be eaten hard, like an apple, or soft, like a peach. One of my favourite fruits.
Looks taaastay!

I've always found them rather tasteless, to be honest, and too close in texture to a tomato, which I loathe. Nice pic, though... ;o)
