AfrikaBurn 2017: Watching The Temple of Gratitude Burn. We got a spot on the perimeter, and because of the position of the Temple the amphitheater effect showed the crowds.
The night time temperatures were hot this year, so there was a significant amount of bare flesh. The image has not been corrected for colour... This is the light effect from the fire.
The burn is silent which means no talking or music. A few people just can't shut their mouths, but the significant experience is awed silence... Magical.
With 13000 individual tickets sold to the event, we estimated 7000 people at this burn.
