33 years later my son and I are now both alumni of UCT.
So much to be happy about today on a personal level, but the biggest joy came in experiencing how UCT is becoming a real part of the African soil. I loved the displays of ethnic pride, the loud celebrating and the strong rhythm of community. Much, much better than in my day.
