Lightening can strike twice

Gnarled stumps of dead leadwood trees are found all over the northern part of Kruger National Park. They have usually been killed by either a fire, or lightning, and called ''lightening trees''. It's the hardest wood there is, resistant to termites and they stand unadorned and resilient on the plains.
