19th June 2024

I finally managed to contact the Landmark to discuss dates for next years show - after all the work and analysis, it turns out that our preferred dates are not available. We have dates at the beginning of May so I may not be here either as often Colin and I go away that month. Later in the morning I had pre-booked our visit to the tip to get rid of literally 15 sacks of holly clippings from Chris’s work on Saturday. It’s quite ridiculous as it is so much further than the one in Kingston but that is not our Borough. As we were shifting the sacks, we discovered this lovely large toad hiding underneath. I think he must have come out of the hedge so I carefully picked him up and popped hum by our very small pond in the shade where he looked a lot happier.

The drive to the tip was - as every journey is around here - long and full of road works but the actual visit was great and it felt good to have cleared the sacks and recycled it all.

Back via Tescos and then into Kingston in the afternoon to collect some shoes I had ordered online. Rather disappointingly they turned out to be totally the wrong colour (at least they were supposed to be blue but the navy was so dark it looked black) so will have to go back!
