Today I am posting 3 pictures of the charming Trieux river in Pontrieux (Brittany). The reflections were so clean that I am posting the 3 pictures upside/down.
@mona65 Hi Mona, my apologies, but I got this shooting opportunity just a bit too late to be able to post one of these pictures as an entry to the technical challenge. But I tried to apply your technical recommendations anyway :-)
@etienne Hi Etienne, I'm sorry you missed the challenge. But probably it isn't all about challenges. It is about trying out (new) things, so I really like your approach and the so clever idea of flipping the image. It's great and I have to keep that in my mind too. I do not know, if you care for a constructive feedback? As I see from the exif data, this was taken at midday, when the sun is extremely bright and photography is difficult. So your sky both in original and reflection is a bit blown out. But why not trying to capture a series of pictures with different shutter speed and merging two together in post processing, so you have a well exposed sky and still all the lovely details in your scene? Just an idea, get in touch with me, if I can help with that.
@mona65 Thanks for your kind comment and suggestion, Mona. That is actually a great idea and I have never done that. I will certainly try it soon. I totally agree that the sky is overexposed. Amazingly, that is what first got me interested in emphasizing the reflection vs the real thing, because the reflection is a bit darker. I first tried to crop the real thing out and to keep only the reflection, but then I was loosing too much detail. So I got carried away and finally kept the whole thing upside down to emphasize the reflection .
