I brought some California poppy seeds back from California 40 years ago, and they are still thriving in my garden. I am not aware of any other garden with these flowers in our village.

They are hardy, that's for sure. It's springtime here in California and their "popping" up all over the place. I love 'em! Beautiful image

Ah! Glad to see them grow there. Do any birds eat the seeds? All the mourning and white wing doves feast on them where I live.

That is my state’s state flower. We have them blooming in all the open spaces now, along with some lupine. Glad you could take some back with you and that they have thrived. Love the closeup shot showing the details of the inner parts.
