This is how we nickname this beautiful fish in France, and I am sure you can see why. The true name is a gilt-head bream. Notice the characteristic red and black spots at the back of cheek. It is only over the last few years that we have been able to observe this Mediterranean fish along our shore in Brittany, and only during the month of May. I am guessing this might be a consequence of climate change.
