Bird's foot trefoil

I find that the French nickname of this flower is cuter than the English one : we call it Jesus' slipper. This plant contains a fair amount of cyanide. Surprizingly, it was used as a regular food for cattle and also as a sleep inducing remedy in traditional medicine.
Gorgeous focus and awesome use of shallow DOF… love this.

I've heard that cyanide has been used to put people to sleep permanently.
P.S. Excellent photograph. The sharp focus combined with the shallow DOF works well together.
