Flight formation

It is a murmuration of sanderlings. We have hundreds of them spending the winter on our small beach, always flying together. Notice the mirage effect on the islands in the background.

I’ve added a new word to my vocabulary, thanks. Amazing. I’ve never seen such a large group. I also love the color and texture of the water.
