Clear Creek African Methodist Episcopal Church

Felixville, Louisiana

This church is so well hidden that I never would have found it without the GPS coordinates found on the U.S. Register of Historic Places. Built around 1910, it originally served as both school and church. That is why it is historically important: in Louisiana where little money was spent on public education, churches provided the space for schools in many rural communities.
A hidden gem. Fav!

It certainly is well camouflaged. It looks like it would be an interesting place to explore and very historical. Terrific photo of it Diane

This is the reason I keep trying to beat back the jungle around my house. Feels like it could take over any minute.
