I haven't even been to a parade yet, but I love looking at how other people celebrate. This house is in the Spanish Town neighborhood of Baton Rouge, which hosts a big (for Baton Rouge) Mardi Gras parade.
A Mardi Gras story: My son was watching one of the biggest New Orleans parades along with thousands of other people even though the day was cold and windy and they were out there for hours. A man from out of state, complaining about the weather, suggested they hold Mardi Gras later, in March or April. My son explained that New Orleans did not pick the time, that carnival season is based on the Christian calendar and ends on Ash Wednesday. "Whatever," the man said.
Oh for Pete’s sake, people can be so crazy sometimes! (Also, I don’t know much about your weather, but how cold can it be?) I have never been to New Orleans, but judging by this picture, I would love it — there are so many things to look at on this house!
A friend of ours who is in the Special Olympics is down their to represent them in one of the parades but I don't know which one. He's so excited! They sure do know how to decorate their homes there!
Loved the story and evidence of the ignorance of so many!
