The community cats who live on/under our deck come and go. Commander has been with us for several months. We know he was once a pet, as he likes to have his back stroked and he has been neutered When he trusts me a little more, I will take him to the vet for vaccinations. It makes me angry and incredibly sad that people abandon animals when we have no-kill shelters who will take them in.
Beautiful portrait of this cat. Perhaps his family moved or even passed away. It might not be intentional abandonment but you are definitely a saint for taking care of him.
