Dinner: past, present and future

I almost stuck my head in this spider web. Thankfully I saw it at the last second and salvaged an opportunity to photograph, albeit poorly, this spider's feeding habits. The wind was blowing, and I found it interesting that there was more blur on one side than the other given that I was directly in the middle and focused on the strip in the middle. I was using a tripod this time, so it wasn't me moving. Is this due to web construction or lens/camera? People more knowledgeable than I will have to answer that.
