How beautiful! It's hard to imagine that so delicate a flower could be growing on such thorny branches! But I suppose that's the point...ad how it came to be named!
@Weezilou Thank you! I agree. These flowers are all in pots at our favorite restaurant. The owner's wife keeps them and a passel of other beautiful flowering plants all in lovely shape for their customers. There are 4 or 5 different colors of blossoms of the crown of thorn.
@oconeebell Thank you. It is a lovely flower, but the stems are very thorny...hence the name. It does make an attractive houseplant, though. Here they grow quite large in outdoor pots
