I used my replacement tripod with my big lens for the first time, and it was so nice to be able to set it in position and have it actually stay there instead of hoping that I had guessed where it was going to end up drifting to correctly. I can't tell you how many times, the moon would have completely moved out of the view screen before I could get it set up because of the drift. It was a bit maddening. Thankfully that is a thing of the past. Another plus is that it is tall enough for me! No more leaning over with my head tipped back at an awkward angle!
