I tried to take a photo of this weird hole in this fig leaf yesterday, but the wind was blowing too much. Today I got good focus. When I was looking at it on my PC, it looked so much like an eye that I decided to put an eye in it. I know that it doesn't really work because the shadows are all wrong, but I think it sort of looks as though something might be looking at us from behind the leaves.
I really like the pattern in the shape of the hole and the veins surrounding it in an eye shape. I can see why you went for the eye - the trouble is (for me), it keeps drawing me away from the patterns on the leaf which I think are enough to make this a truly beautiful photo.
@helenhall The patterning around the hole was what drew me in; it reminded me of an aerial view of a subdivision built around a pond. Then I saw the eye, and I couldn't let go of it. However, I always value your opinion and thank you for sharing it with me.

@michaelblueeyes Thank you very much. Sure didn't intend to scare anyone! :)
