These seed pods are all over the sidewalks in Town. I have wanted to grab some for ages so that I could take a photo and finally was able to yesterday. I think they are so interesting: Everywhere one looks, there is something new to find. There are all of the hairs padding the seeds, the efficient way the seeds are all packed in the pod, the way a rodent had gnawed the top off one of the seeds and the glorious color in both seeds and pods. If I weren't afraid that either the parrots or the young dog would eat them, I would have a bowl of them on the coffee table. Of course, then I would have to dust them...
I love this - for all the reasons you have talked about. Shame we don't have any here as I have no parrots or dogs and would happily have them on my coffee table! very nicely composed and taken photo.
