About five weeks ago My Guy and I went in search of some pillow covers for some pillows I had bought ages ago. They didn't have any pillow covers in the right size, so I decided to look at sheets, thinking I could just make some. I told My Guy to find some sheets that would complement the colors in the living room. He came back with the palest of pale blue sheets. I should have known; this man wants all the walls in the house to be white. So I went over to the sheets and talked to him about the colors in the room: the lovely oranges and rust in the Iranian draperies; the deep maroon and burgundy in the Saudi camel cushions; and the tans, browns, and russets in the Indian wall hanging. He was willing to go with tan. 😊 I glanced over and saw that Ikea has its own fabric section, so we went over there to see what they had. This fabric has a lot of the colors that we need, but I wasn't sure how My Guy would feel about it. Amazingly, he likes it because "It has some blue in it." Apparently, that is the key to My Guy decorating happiness...put some blue in it somewhere!
@helenhall Thank you so much! Our anniversary is this week, and My Guy actually returns home from Iraq on the day, so I have been thinking of all the things that have gone into keeping our marriage strong for 33 years.
@joysabin Thank you! I didn't either until I glanced over and saw all of the bolts of fabric. Then I thought they must be only for them to fabricate for the customer. But I saw the attendant cut a piece, bag it and had it to a customer so I thought, "Why not check it out?"
