If you enlarge this you can see the cracked trunk at the right of the frame. The repeated wind storms we have had this year have damaged it too much.This maple is very large and provides a shady canopy for our entire back yard. For safety reasons, and because the tree experts think it will not survive, it is coming down tomorrow.
Oh, that's so sad - I know you'll miss its beauty and shade but sure don't want to take a chance on it coming down in a bad spot! You can tell it is huge!
