For a meeting. Not for my health. As some of you know, I am a mental health provider. A good portion of my work involves collaborating with doctors and psychiatrists to ensure continuity of care. I work with a population who suffers from severe mental illness. It is not for the faint of heart.
But sometimes...just sometimes I hear things that are just so bat-shit cray-cray-crayyyyyzeee that I just have to laugh. I wish I could share because...man...(at the risk of sounding insensitive) it's just comedy GOLD.
In all seriousness, I love what I do and privileged to be a part of improving the quality of someone's life. I am, however, looking forward to a break from it tomorrow.
Happy hump day people! Lazy again with the iPhone because I don't know if I'll have the time or energy to use my better camera later. Pic taken in the hospital while waiting for my meeting to start.
Yes, Tiffany/Theresa/Talia/Toni, this is a lovely shot, has that cube feeling.
Glad you find the humor in your job from time to time. I'm a T-man, and the excuses/lies people tell me on a daily basis often leave me speechless. Oh, the stories we could tell, eh?
I've said it before but it bears repeating: I admire your strength. You've got an incredibly tough and woefully thankless job.
I spent several years working for a hospital-based ambulance service and we had the pleasure of transporting psych patients from our psych ED to other hospitals' longer-term units for treatment. One of my favorite episodes was when we made back-to-back transports with both guys claiming they were Jesus. They both went to the same facility just a short distance from our hospital and when we got there with Savior #2, Messiah #1 was still in the secure waiting area. The intake workers were really backed up, so they told us to leave #2 there, as well. My partner and I agreed that we would have liked to have stuck around for a bit because the ensuing conversation would likely be very interesting.
Oh, and I really like the picture. Some architect went to great pains to design that place and it's good to know that somebody noticed his/her work.
@islandk8 thanks Katie! Enjoy your 4th too!

@carolb haha so many stories! I couldn't make some of the stuff up that I hear, even if I did have the wildest imagination!
@timerskine thanks, Tim. And thanks for sharing. The convo you described are the kind of things I hear in my work daily. It's literally crazy. lol.
