...that I'm most definitely from New York.
These streets will make you feel brand new.
Big lights will inspire you.
Let's hear it for New York..."

A bit blurry. Not the best shot. Taken with my point-and-shoot in 2008 -- didn't have a DSLR yet. This is the Brooklyn side after taking a walk across from Manhattan. Probably had ice cream from Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory which resides at the foot of the bridge. Can't remember exactly when this was shot but I know it was summer. Dug this pic out of my archives.
Today was a gorgeous spring-like day in Manhattan. Sunny. Warmer. Right now, life isn't perfect but Ms. T is pretty happy :) Hope you all are too!
@snaphappy1 probably was with you when this was taken. Bet we had gone for a jog across the bridge and then had ice cream after to counteract all that healthy activity lol.
I absolutely fell in love with the city. I've been kicking myself for not going sooner. For a foodie and photog to NOT have been to NYC...it's embarrassing. We are already planning a return trip in the fall.
@thomastoth for a foodie and photog, visiting NYC is such a must! And although I love love love summertime in the city, Fall is a really beautiful time to visit. The weather isn't so extreme. Not sure if you got a chance to venture out to the other boroughs while you were here, but ya gotta check out some neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens next time you visit. So many different ways to experience NYC and you can do the typical tourist attractions and still get a sense of it. But there's so much more......
@fauxtography365 I read on a web site that you have to get out of Manhattan in order to really experience NYC. Unfortunately, we were just there for the weekend so we did the really touristy things. I want to get to Brooklyn next...thanks for the tip.
@thomastoth Brooklyn is a lot of fun. Gonna sound weird here but am excited for your return to experience NYC again. It's interesting because sometimes when I see the pretty glittery shots of NYC, I love 'em but to me those shots are really for the people who don't live here. While I never tire of seeing the NYC skyline or Brooklyn Bridge or taking shots of them for that matter, the REAL New York to me (and I would bet other New Yorkers might agree) isn't truly represented by those shots of skyscrapers and such that people (mostly non-New Yorkers) seem to gravitate to or ooh and aaaah about. NYC to me is people and subways and streets and it's gritty and dirty and it's crowded and loud. How can that even be captured in a photo?
Ahhhh. I shed a little tear when I look at this pic. I've been a few places across this globe but THIS Is by far my favorite place on earth. Perfectly captured! Fav.
@snaphappy1 thanks for the Fav. I thought you might like this one ;) I like but don't like this pic. I like it for the colors and the subject matter...but hate it because it's blurry and I probably rushed this shot. Could've been beautiful. Oh well. Just another good excuse to go out there again this summer with the better cam and maybe a tripod.
@baznman thanks! And for reading the tags too lol. I never tag and you get a ((hug)) too.
@tonydebont hi, Tony. Thanks! I don't normally tag my photos nor do I ever look at people's tags...so I just put wordy tags up there to see if anyone would read it. I may start putting hidden messages there lol.
