This weekend was tiring. I'm worried but hopeful...
Anyway.
What's the first physical attribute you notice about the opposite sex? For me, it's the eyes. I take note of nice arms. And I particularly notice (and like) certain amounts of arm hair. Perhaps I'll explain why at some point. And maybe I'm (probably) weird for even disclosing that bit of info.
Oh.
I like when a man has clean fingernails and well kept cuticles. I'll also take note of a man's eating/table etiquette and appetite. I think it could be telling.
As for the non-physical attributes... Sense of humor and intelligence/wit trump everything else.
My husband has green eyes. Nice arm hair and strong arms to catch me when I fall -- literally or metaphorically. He makes me cry...but makes me laugh more. AND he is almost as smart as me ;)
(Pic taken in January with iPhone. Used the Noir filter to give the high key effect.)
The first thing I notice when looking at a woman is her eyes if I am at an angle that her face can be seen. Then, I must confess I usually look at her legs. All of that aside, a woman could be the most beautiful woman I could imagine but if I can't have a conversation with her, I will quickly lose interest. Got to have some intelligence and be down to earth. I always knew you had beautiful eyes! I like the shot!
@thirdjoe I actually do not like my eyes at all so it's nice to be complimented on them. In terms of the physical stuff, people usually compliment my smile, hair, legs, or ass lol. Never the eyes. So thank you! Made my day :)
Agree with you about the conversation thing and being down to earth -- so important when trying to connect with someone. I find that a person becomes more physically attractive when their personality is great.
I like big eyes. Not like bug eyes, but slightly larger in proportion to face. I tend to notice necks, too. Nice definition of tendons and the curve into shoulder gets my attention. Mentally and physically ;-)
@baznman thanks! I actually just realized I notice necks too...specifically a man's Adam's apple. I might find myself looking at it while he speaks😳... Uh. Let me shut up now. Lol.
@soboy5 thanks, Danny! I hardly ever remember what people are wearing unless it looks really bad or really good on them. I will almost always notice if someone looks poorly groomed though. Usually that's a turn off. But sometimes...the scruffy look can work...
this is more than just a cropped corner of you Ms T. I do like focussing on the eyes in photography, I think it is important. The rest can just be.
I will say that I would fail in your nail criteria. My job involves getting dirty at times and my hands and fingernails cop a battering and I am very laze with my toes. Go back to my first year project and you'll see some groady toes!
Really cool how you've managed to wash out all of your facial features except for the eyes. I do generally notice a woman's eyes if we make eye contact. And, well, I'd be lying if I didn't say that I notice legs and butts too.
@bobfoto gonna have to look through your project then. Curious about the groady toes lol. And honestly, my own husband even "fails" in my nail category. He is somewhat of a nail biter and his fingernails and cuticles are all kinds of fucked up sometimes.
@jbc2013 thanks, Josh. Seems like most people notice eyes initially.
I like your eyes, especially how they cross a little bit. ;)
I had a GF once that liked me to trim my arm/leg hair; not to the skin, just your standard manscaping. "Enhances the definition" or some such.
Bit... girls be crazy! :p
My eyes are wicked little things; it doesn't matter what they grab onto first, they will soon take all of the rest in; on the sly if possible but not necessarily. If I'm speaking with a girl, eyes first, then ears, neck, lips. I'm a sucker for collar bones, abs, and teeth that are a little less than perfect (not a wrecked grill, just unique).
So... if you like Piña Coladas, getting caught in the rain... ;) LOL
@grizzlysghost haha. "...if you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain..."
you mean you don't like women with gold teeth? Or as they say in some parts...gold teef all up in yo' grill. Lol.
Keep your man hair lol. I think it's weird when men manscape TOO much and have no body hair where they should. I like a decent amount, maybe more than some women but nothing like Sasquatch. No hair or shaved arms or legs kinda freaks me out big time. I mean, to me, it's the difference between our bodies that's the appreciation, the turn on.
I've learned from my close male friends that most guys look at all of a woman's parts...on the sly or not. Even if they think don't think she's hot...they just gotta make sure and check it out anyway. I've witnessed them do it. It's quite interesting to me, actually to witness it. It doesn't offend whatever feminist principles I hold on to. It just what makes men, men. We are such different animals. But I know women check out men just as much...maybe just not initially.
My eyes. When I was really young they were very big for my face...most people used to comment on how big they were. I suppose I grew into them but they are uneven on my face...hence the cross-eyed appearance maybe? Lol!
But seriously... I honestly get annoyed at requests. And I'm sure as shit I won't ever get the requests I asked of you guys. Tit for tat, remember? Don't ever ask me again. :P
@zosimasy lol no need for an apology.! Though please understand it from my perspective -- I mean...i post what i want here...i post more than what most people are willing to share both visually and verbally (and that is my choice, I know)... post things that people might call "brave" (total misuse of the word, in my opinion). I never ask anyone to post anything that *I* want or more than what they are comfortable doing. So... *shrug* I dunno. But no hard feelings, of course. Honest. :) Happy New Years, Charles! Hope 2015 brings you all the happiness you work for!
@zosimasy and for the record...no one has ever told me that I've had nice eyes. Even now that I did here...not many comments about them. Most just wanna comment on the body pics, save for the two nice comments that actually mention my eyes here -- for which I'm grateful. So do you wonder why I don't show them?
@fauxtography365 indeed, you have a point.
I know this may sound lame stating after your post, but you do have nice eyes. :) Not sure why no one has said it before, I was thinking it, not sure why I didn't comment.

Too bad you're not doing get-pushed challenge ;)
