Took this picture a little over a week ago. Wasn't sure what these two folks were exactly doing, as they were the only ones dressed like that - no other wedding party members, similarly dressed people, or any photographer. And they were just staring straight ahead like mannequins right in the middle of Grand Central Terminal. A bunch of people were snapping their picture with their smart phones. Could've been performance art of sorts. I dunno. But it was a cool scene and, while I don't normally like to photograph people, I decided to join in the fun.
I quite like how they seemed oblivious to their surroundings...kind of in the same way when you're with someone and sharing something intense -- be it friend, lover, husband, boyfriend, etc. -- that the background just seems to...fade away.
In other news...got called Jessica again this morning. And replied to it, as per usual it seems. Lol. (Jessica is not my name, btw.) Some of you may recall I have written a few times about the dude on my train who calls me Jessica (not exactly sure why because I told him my actual name once) and every time I think of correcting him, something else happens or I chicken out. So it's been a year now...and I've been Jessica to him.
I thought of correcting him today but then he told me that I looked pretty in my dress and told me to have a good day. So, um...maybe next time lol.
Nice shot. Vantage looks really stunning. The couple giving giving a staring look as if they are lost in the world is really catching the eyes. Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo
@drsridhar thanks for your comment! :) I was debating whether or not to post this in color here. I have it with the same processing on my Flickr. I think it's better in mono - has more of a timeless feel.
@soboy5 hey, Danny! I thought it was pretty cool too. Thanks for your visit :)
@amandal hey, Amanda! Hope all is well with you. It was neat to stumble upon this. At first I wasn't gonna snap a pic because I was in a hurry and then I stopped. But then I bought, when would this moment present itself again? Maybe never.
@timerskine definitely. That's why I stopped. And also, isn't that part of the purpose of the camera? Capturing those moments that you might otherwise miss?
It isn't often you get an opportunity to take a photo of two strangers that are perfectly turned out, stand still and don't object. Fabulous opportunity and perfectly presented in B&W. Fav
