The last splash picture, I guarantee! The fish tank I used is being dismantled this evening so I had a dabble this afternoon. I have nothing else to put up for today, this is all I have. No comments needed, I had such lovely feedback yesterday:) Will try to produce something original tomorrow.
i really like the reflections in these images and the turbulence of the water too.
This IS original - cannot be repeated, ever.. totally unique..
the yellowy/lime has a totally different 'feel' to the red/orange of yesterday.. Both very good - just different.. it is good to see the difference too.. Thanks for posting both.. 💗
@jorlam@hermann Thank you both so much for commenting. I used a bit of Photoshop here I'm afraid. It's called the Mirror Box effect and Gavin Hoey did a YouTube tutorial some years ago. I've seen a couple of excellent examples on here recently and thought I'd play around with that too. I thought it gave it an ice cube effect. Sadly I am not as clever as you give me credit for:(. But I very much appreciate your feedback, thank you!
@cmsch52 I had to use Manual mode which is very much trial and error for me. It was an 18-55mm lens on a tripod as near to the glass as I could get it. F/5.6, 1/800 sec, ISO 400. Focussing on where you intend to add the fruit or veggies is key (used a teaspoon in the water here) but actually getting objects to go in that spot is not so easy. I also used the conservatory on a bright day as I don't have an external flash. If you do have one you can get some spectacular results with black BG. I still fiddled with the contrast and brightness because the wall behind is pale grey and looked dingy. Hope this helps and look forward to seeing your pics!
Very cool. I was going to ask about the reflections but then went back through the comments and see you have explained how you did it. Very effective xx
