One from yesterday - not exactly a field full, but definitely a large swathe:) I've been looking all summer for a field of poppies without success, and after taking sunflower pictures I turned around and in the field opposite there they were ...
A sight which was once common and now quite rare.. i've not come across one this year, like you i have been looking.. but, unlike you, i haven't found a gorgeous scene like this..
i really like the composition.. the sloping hedge and the edge of the woodland help to carry the eye around the frame.. But, of course it is the poppies who take centre stage..
it's a quintessential British summer meadow and it is beautiful..
@jessikapanteleios@cindymc@jetr@jclaireyp@pdulis@littleconnie@jorlam Thanks to each and everyone for taking the time to view and comment. I was over the moon to see this as I'd searched and searched and now thought their time must have come and gone. So happy you liked this one.
@suesouthwood@peadar Thanks very much:) @megpicatilly Thanks Catherine, I looked for your poppy pic but couldn't find it. One of my favorite photos of this year is the inside of just a single poppy which I didn't bother to put here.
That's gorgeous. I've noticed the field near us that usually has loads of poppies in has been completely cleared this year so I'm unlikely to get a shot like this which is a shame xx
@joansmor What a wonderful description!
