Wet and grey here today so haven't ventured out. Tried to capture a water crown this time and I did actually manage one in pretty good focus but it was only the back half, I chopped the front half off ... so here is the best of quite a few (underplaying the amount here) but what I'm most pleased about is that it's sooc! No need to comment, you were all extremely kind about my last water drop a couple of days ago, am posting this purely because I have nothing else and the month is looking gappy. These are so much harder than they look!
It's a beauty FB - having the refracted interest means that you don't even notice that part of the drop is more focused than the other part. It's a super sooc!
I have a friend in camera club who has perfected this- after 3 years of experimenting and a number of contraptions to assist with the timing of it all! You've done a good job here and deserve to be proud! This is a technique that I am always in admiration of, but will probably never try because it's so hard.
We recently had a camera club workshop on water drop photography. Even using all of the high tech gear I only managed to get a couple of crowns. I took well over 200 shots and most of them were deleted!
Amazing -- the background worked well and your crown is well defined. This stuff is REALLY hard -- which is why I've posted one shot of this in 7 years!
@olivetreeann@merrelyn@taffy I'm not going to give up on these, but may not try again for a while. I'm surprised my shutter is still working! Think I took that many pictures (now deleted) that I'm photo'd out for a few days:)
