I looked at the artist challenge (Louise Nevelson) and my elderly brain saw 'rubbish' / 'flat lay' and 'black and white' and thought this was do-able. So I went into the garage this afternoon and found all sorts of possible rusted rubbish. It was only when I came to put them together I realised they should have been either on a black background or a white one so these didn't cut it even with a high key effect so I gave them an antique filter and played around a bit and thought they could be today's picture instead. In retrospect I wish I'd left them in colour as the rust and cobwebs showed up much more. If only the spider that scuttled out of one of the boxes had hung around enough for me to get his picture .... At least I know now where the mallet is and the wire brush!
I hear your frustration- mine didn't turn out the way I expected it to either- but there's nothing wrong with a "Louise Nevelson" inspired collage- says the one who thinks hers doesn't cut the mustard either. Still, I like the vintage look and the artifacts- nicely composed!
