These particular buildings date back to the16th century - every time I go past my eyes are drawn to the bulging wall of the first floor of the building on the left hand side of the picture ...

Nice capture. I'm also enjoying the idea of woven sandwiches :-) Footnote on the etymology of 'shambles' - a place where meat was slaughtered. Hence the Shambles in York is thought to be the butcher's street.
